Deep in the depths of the Tamar Bridge the suspension cable are anchored either side of the river, in Devon and Cornwall.

 

As moisture finds a way into the humidity controlled chambers over time corrosion occurs. Paintel Ltd used their team of IRATA trained operatives to apply a coating specifically designed for suspension cables.

 

Where the cables are bolted into concrete an aluminium bituminous coating was used to help identify corrosion in future inspections.
