To support cantilever lanes which were added to the Tamar Bridge in their strengthening and widening project in 2001 additional cables were added to the bridge.

 

Our team of IRATA trained Industrial Coating Applicators (ICA) where used with supervision from IRATA level 3 Sam Radcliffe from Peninsula Access to complete this project.

 

To access the work area, over 30m up a cable, required the ICA’s to be belayed down in a specially designed support frame. The ICA’s cleaned and prepared the cable in stages applying a specialist cable coating once ready.
